Portugal Walking Tour – Castle and Beaches
In this Portugal Walking Tour you’ll enjoy medieval castled villages, the gorgeous city of Évora and the fabulous Alentejo gastronomy. You’ll be walking on isolated tracks where not a lot of people go, having the feeling that nature is all yours!
Then drive to the coast and experience a totally different scenario: the wild Alentejo Coast, one of the most beautiful of the world. You’ll be overwhelmed by the endless views, the rough sea and the contrast between the blue ocean and the colourful rocks.
All our hiking in Portugal Tours can be done either guided or self-guided. Picking a guided tour will give us the opportunity to personally explore and interpret with you all the monuments, culture, gastronomy and traditions of our people. With a guide you may decide what when and where along the way really customizing your tour. And we will have the opportunity to get to know you and share a bit of who we are. We recommend our guided tour, but you may choose self guided as well.

Tour Reviews
Wonderful 8 day walking tour of rural and coastal southern Portugal. The local guides, Teresa and Joanna, taylored the walks to suit our abilities and interests. We visited Neolithic standing stones, mediaeval villages, a cork factory and an organic herb farm. We followed the trail of an old aqueduct as it descended gently into Evora. We ate loquats and citrus straight from the tree and sampled traditional food and wine at farms and in small fishing villages. We enjoyed picnic lunches of olive oil, salads, cheeses and ham partnered with local wine whilst watching the Atlantic waves in an unspoilt nature reserve. We dawdled in the ocean and traversed long sandy beaches.
On a practical level, transfers, meals and accommodation were all well organised
Castles and beaches 8 day guided tour
A very enjoyable holiday with very professional and pleasant local guides Teresa and Joanna who have a wonderful sense of humour.
The walking distance was tailored to our group each day. A very authentic Portuguese experience of local food and countryside. I especially enjoyed staying at the Turaventur farm with local fruits. We ate breakfast and dinner at the farm and on both occasions the food was good and the service was excellent from Sara and Vanya.

Excellent Trip
The idea of a walking tour in sunny, hilly Portugal was a bit daunting for me, but my companions thought it was a good idea so I stepped outside of my comfort zone and gave it a try. Now I am glad that I did.
Our guides, Turaventur, designed an itinerary which hit the high points if the Alentejo region of Portugal with comfortable distances tailored to our abilities. The scenery was beautiful, every day yielding different landscapes and points of historical significance, punctuated by delicious food, excellent wine and even time to explore local shops and markets. The tour was always focused on interesting and authenticity Portuguese experiences which left me with a warm connection to this beautiful country and fond memories of its friendly and welcoming people.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at your farm May 17-20th.The food and scenery at the farm were spectacular, and you made us feel very special and welcome.
Our walk to Evora was amazing. The flowers and the old cork trees were a fantasic sight, and also the aquaducts. The people who transported us were very nice, helpful and friendly.
The trip to Monzaros and the visit at the castle was also nice, but the walk back from the castle were not very exiting. For future references, there might be more intereseting to have more walking time inside Evora town, witch we found very beautiful.
The rest of the trip along the coastline were spectacular, with all the beautiful flowers, storks nesting and so on.
Regards from Turil and Frantz Endresen.
